25 MHz Dual Channel Arbitrary / Function Generator
Model# BK4078

The 4078 is a versatile high performance dual channel function/arbitrary waveform generator with the largest arbitrary memory depth in its class. The generator combines the ability to produce nearly any conceivable arbitrary waveform with accuracy and precision and a DDS architecture offering easy to use conventional function generator capabilities. Arbitrary waveforms have 14 bit amplitude resolution, 100 MSa/s sample rate and up to 400,000 points length. Waveforms can be output in continuous, triggered, gated or burst modes. The instrument can be remotely controlled using SCPI compliant commands via RS232. Extensive features such as internal or external AM, FM and FSK modulation along with versatile sweep capabilities and variable edge pulse generation make this generator suitable for a wide range of applications including electronic design, sensor simulation, functional test or generation of I/Q modulated signals. Features & Benefits:
  • 14-bit, 100 MSa/s, 400 k point Arbitrary Waveform Generator
  • 25 MHz Sine / 25 MHz Square waveforms
  • Predefined Pulse, Ramp, Triangle, Noise, Sin (X)/X,
  • Exponential and Gaussian waveforms
  • Both channels offer full functionality. All wave form parameters such as frequency, amplitude and offset can be set independently
  • Synchronize both output signals to the same clock signal (external or internal) and precisely adjust the phase relationship between the two signals
  • Economical baseband I/Q signal source
  • Saves cost and bench space
  • AM, FM and FSK modulation
  • 10 mVpp to 10 Vpp with 1 mVpp settable amplitude resolution
  • Large graphical LCD shows a detailed output waveform representation
  • Fully programmable markers
  • Fully protected output
  • Closed case calibration
  • Arbitrary waveform editing software included
  • SCPI compliant command set
  • Optional GPIB interface
  • Simple integration with WaveXpress waveform editing software to send your waveform creations to the arbitrary waveform generator

Waveform Editing Software
Model# Wavexpress

Leverage your investment in B&K Precision oscilloscopes and AWGs. An engineer armed with a digital storage oscilloscope, AWG, and the WaveXpress™ software is capable of tackling demanding real-world signal generation tasks. With several transformation options, users can easily create complex waveforms. Modify a waveform downloaded from a scope or construct a new waveform using powerful and intuitive editing tools. Quickly download them to your AWG and begin testing your circuits and systems moments later. The WaveXpress™ program can also be used for general-purpose waveform editing without requiring any instruments to be connected to the computer.

    Features and benefits:
  • Download waveforms from B&K oscilloscopes, AWGs, or load them from CSV/text files.
  • Use real-world waveforms for testing or create them from scratch with drawing and editing tools.
  • Insert commonly-used waveforms and different types of noise.
  • Avoid tedious programming.
  • Use the full amplitude resolution of your AWG.
  • Combine waveforms with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Numerous transformations for changing a waveform. Users can add transformations in the Python programming language.
  • Multi-language support: Users can edit or add new language translations.
  • Fast zooming and panning with mouse.
  • Dialog settings are remembered for faster repetitive work.

    Supported models:
  • Oscilloscopes: Models 2534, 2540, 2542
  • Arbitrary Waveform Generators: Models 4045 ,4075 , 4076 , 4078 , 4079

    Minimum system requirements:
  • Windows XP™ or later. Connectivity requirements: RS232, GPIB, or USB, based on instrument(s) in use.
  • NI-VISA Run-Time Engine installation (this is an external link to download)
